For once, Don’t Do It | Nike
Nike a well known American multinational corporation engaged in the design, development, and manufacture of footwear, apparel, and accessories has recently raised a campaign Don’t Do It Again.
The campaign was released after the incident of racism which took place in Minneapolis, where an African American named George Floyd was killed by a police officer who kneeled down on his neck.
The campaign is an awareness program with a duration of 60 seconds, through the campaign Nike urges its customers, For once don’t do it, don’t pretend there is no problem in America. Don’t turn your back on Racism and don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us. All these messages sum up to For Once Don’t Do it.
It is a very powerful campaign that encourages people to stop being a silent spectator and make excuses when there is a need, instead, raise their voice against any odd and be a part of the change.
Nike time and again as a brand has a long history of standing against any ill practices prevalent in the society and inequality in all forms said Nike spokeswoman in a statement. The brand wishes to bring a change in society and shed light on all the ill-practices which will subsequently help to reduce them.
The ad has been produced by Wieden and Kennedy Portland, although other brands too have raised against the issue but Nike made a noticeable contribution and is very well known for its blunt and straightforward messages.
In the same way in the year 2018, Nike came into light when it released an advertisement campaign featuring US football players and activist Colin Kaepernick criticized for kneeling down during the US national anthem at a game in protest of racism.
