Sunsilk brings out the “Never Give Up Spirit”
Sunsilk brings out a sense of hope and confidence in their new ad film
The commercial which has been conceptualized by Wunderman Thompson South Asia is all about encouraging young girls out there not to give up in these tough times. It’s about how we can turn our lives around even in the worst situations.
The ad showcases the life of a hairdresser who is jobless during this lockdown and she raises her spirit and finds an alternate way to continue her practice. By putting up tutorials on social media platforms, her talents get once again recognized. The ad ends with a note “Shine and the world is mine.” In this lockdown, women are trying to find their identity and resurface back to their existing careers which are at stake. So, this Sunsilk Blackshine ad gives them the faith to do so.
Ashish Pathak, AVP, and Senior Creative Director(Art) of Wunderman Thompson South Asia commented that they wanted to celebrate this never giving up the spirit and they thought that the life of a hairdresser is the best choice to advertise the shampoo brand and convey their message at the same time.

We felt the best way to showcase the benefit of shine can be done by depicting a story of optimism of the young girls and we can correlate the benefit of shine to her life and her hair even in difficult times. It is an inspiring story of many young girls today which is the target audience of this brand.”
