 India Welcomes ‘Shop On Wheels’ With Brands Reaching Societies With Retail Truck

As we all know that the entire world is grappling with novel Coronavirus. Due to the nationwide lockdown, many retailers were hit. The concept shop on wheels has caught the fancy of Indian many retailers, who are taking a bus around in societies in India in the hope of making a sale. Though the concept shop on wheels is not new as it existed globally for a long time, in India, it is yet to take off.

Presently, Levi’s Jeans is experimenting with the concept in Delhi and Gurugram but also hopes to scale it up to other cities with the motive to ensure that their customers should feel safe and comfortable. The work from the home collection includes tops, shorts, and lightweight comfortable denim. Sanjeev Mohanty managing director of Levi’s told Business Insider that Consumers can also try out the garments at their homes and for alterations the team on the ground takes measurements and the final product after being modified at the nearest store, is dropped back to the customer.

In Mumbai, max fashion has also taken shop on wheels route to garner customer attention. During the lockdown in May, grocery stores and bookstores also turned to a similar shop on wheel approach to reach out to the customers. In January, try and buy fashion rental startup Stage3 launched ‘Fashion on wheels’ with the motive to sell the concept of rental fashion. The vehicle had a walk-in-closet that allowed customers to touch, see, and rent their preferred outfits as they used to call it India’s first fashion Mobile.
