Xiaomi Rolls Out New Ad Featuring Three Of Its Employees
Due to the COVID pandemic, our regular lives came to a halt. We were restricted to step out even to get our essentials at one point. Parlors, Salons were also closed for a long time and not only women but also men were affected because of this. This led to the start of self-grooming among men staying at home. They started depending upon online grooming videos and ordered in grooming products to nurture themselves.
On that note, Xiaomi has now launched a new ad to introduce their new Mi Beard Trimmer 1C. The ad features three of the company’s employees who have featured earlier in the Mi beard Trimmer ad in 2019. The group of three, widely known as the “Mi Beard Gang” showcases the various grooming styles for men and how effectively it can be done with their new product.
“With grooming trends gaining considerable popularity among men in urban and semi-urban segments, the men’s grooming industry has witnessed a solid growth trajectory, especially in the last quarter. Also interestingly, for our consumers, grooming isn’t just about style, it’s a part of their personalities. Keeping in mind our consumers’ evolving needs, our new product campaign showcases the new innovative Mi Beard Trimmer 1C. We hope Mi fans have as much fun watching the video as much as we had while making it, said Sumit Sonal, Brand Lead of Mi India.
The four-minute forty-one-second-long commercial featuring the employees Pallav Chikara, Abhishek Rana, and Akul Madhok with the legendary Oldspice voice in the background has certainly had some drawbacks. As per various advertising professionals, the duration of the ad was much criticized but the making and narration were very much appreciated.
“I find the execution pretty modern and new age. We are living with constraints and they seem to have made the most of the resources while still looking cool and premium. Having said that seems a bit long and boring,” says Anupama Ramaswamy of Dentsu.
