Facebook Launches Instagram Reels Right After The Ban of TikTok
Facebook has now launched a new feature called “Reels” on Instagram just after the downfall of its biggest competitor TikTok. TikTok is suffering a great loss as the app got banned in India and now the American government is also scrutinizing the app.
Facebook has launched “Reels” in the US and fifty other countries. The company has used its biggest social media platform Instagram, to promote this new feature. This helps the users to create 15-second video content and upload it on Instagram.
China’s ByteDance is under lots of pressure as Microsoft is ready to buy the company as it is under scrutiny in America. TikTok has been banned in India recently along with other Chinese apps in the Indian digital platform. At the loss of their biggest market, the company is now facing scrutiny from all directions.
Facebook has earlier launched an app called “Lasso” just like TikTok but the app was not very successful. So now they have launched Reels similar to that. TikTok’s CEO Kevin Mayer has commented that Reels was a copycat of TikTok and Facebook is using its large user base of Instagram to promote Reels after the failure of Lasso.
But Instagram announced that they have launched Reels to help youngsters express their feelings and give the spotlight to the people who are trying to bring out their passion and talents. The company is also making use of young social media influencers and celebrities to carry out its mission of promoting Reels on Instagram.
