Amazon and Catamaran’s Joint Venture Helps SMB Business Go Online
Prione Business Services, joint venture of Amazon and Catamaran is a venture which helps small and medium businesses in e-commerce. The business was started in 2014 and is now earning a revenue of Rs 50 Lakhs per month.
The startup helps the small business owners plan a digital strategy in their E-commerce platform. It owns Cloudtail which is the logistic partner of Amazon India and also the largest online seller on Amazon. The venture has a capital of Rs 550 Crores and received a profit of Rs 38 Crore in FY2019.
They also help the ventures in digital marketing, warehousing, consumer behaviors, packaging and cataloguing. It educates the small shop owners on the perks of using digital platforms and has successfully trained around 3 million customers.
“Amazon pays us to onboard SMBs, and all our services are free. This year, we have witnessed a 30 percent week-on-week increase in SMBs going online. The next ten years is about Indian brands and their rise. In 2016, we did not have many digital first brands. but today, we have so many. boat, wow skin science, and Fabiano are a few brands doing extremely well in the ecommerce journey and are brands that used ecommerce as a channel well,” said Sandeep Varagunti, Managing Director of Prione.
They also teach the customers about online trafficking and how to manage their production budgets in marketing and advertisements. It is firmly believed that this joint venture with abundant resources and a good aim will help Indian businesses turn digital during these critical times.
