Dream 11 Bags IPL 2020 Title Sponsorship with Rs. 222 crore
BCCI has granted the IPL 2020 title sponsorship rights to Dream 11, who had paid a higher price than that of Tata Sons in order to acquire the deal as per the state media reports. Dream11 had to pay Rs 222 crore to get the deal done. As per the sources, other bidders who were in the queue were Unacademy, Tata, and Byju’s.
While Dream11’s had won the bid with Rs 222 crores, Unacademy followed the bid with Rs. 210 crores which was again followed by Tata with Rs.180 crores, Byju’s came at last with Rs. 125 crores.
BCCI after closing the deal with Chinese cell phone organization Vivo, amidst the Sino-India border face-off had opened the offer for title sponsorship in IPL 2020 which is all set to be held in UAE.
“IPL 2020 will be played from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10, 2020. The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST,” said BCCI last week.
