L&T Finance and Pine Labs bring agentic commerce to PLANET app

L&T Finance has partnered with Pine Labs to integrate Agentic Storefront into its PLANET app, announced at Global Fintech Fest 2026 on 9 September.

The integration lets AI agents carry out transactions inside the app within what the two companies describe as a governed framework. Flight ticket bookings are the debut use case, moving the app past conversational chatbots towards autonomous end-to-end fulfilment.

Manish Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive for Urban Unsecured Assets, Payments and Digital Partnerships at L&T Finance, called the move a shift ‘from conversational assistance to true transaction execution’. He said flight bookings are a starting point and that the architecture is designed to extend to other merchant categories.

Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Technology Officer at Pine Labs, said commerce is increasingly driven by intent rather than clicks, searches and manual decisions, positioning the tie-up as groundwork for agent-to-agent commerce at scale.
