Bajaj Auto revives 2001 Pulsar ad for new Pulsar 150 launch
Bajaj Auto Ltd announced on 15 September 2026 the launch of a new television commercial for the all-new Pulsar 150, marking 25 years of the motorcycle brand and revisiting its most remembered advertising campaign.
Conceptualised by Ogilvy, the film serves as a sequel to Pulsar’s 2001 launch commercial. In the new film, the same two nurses from the original advertisement encounter something familiar beneath a white sheet, triggering a sense of deja vu that takes them back to their first encounter, before the story reveals the all-new Pulsar 150.
The company said that when Pulsar arrived in 2001, it changed the perception of what a motorcycle could represent for Indian riders, bringing performance, attitude and excitement into a category largely defined by everyday mobility, and that this distinctive character helped establish Pulsar as an icon of the segment. Bajaj Auto said Pulsar has sold more than 20 million motorcycles across the world since its launch.
Sumeet Narang, President, Marketing at Bajaj Auto, said Pulsar has always stood for an attitude that goes beyond the motorcycle itself, adding that this attitude has evolved with riders, the category and the brand while its essence remains what the company calls ‘Definitely Daring’.
Sukesh Nayak, Group Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy India, said that creating a sequel to a film so deeply remembered presented a different creative challenge, noting that the visual cues and rhythm of the original were used to build anticipation before the story takes a new turn.
