Billionaire Yuri Milner To Invest in Byju’s
Byju’s, one of the country’s leading online educational startups, is now ready to be funded by Yuri Milner. Yuri Milner is all set to invest $400 Billion in the platform.
With the prevailing pandemic, students are opting for digital classrooms to enhance their skills and knowledge. Byju’s provides fun and effective videos and tutorials to help students in the process. Launching their app in 2011, the company offers assistance to students from Kindergarten to Class 12. The platform has 3.5 Million paid subscribers and 300,000 new subscribers every month. Since lockdown the company has doubled their revenue to 28 Billion this year.
Founded with an aim of making the learning process easy by Byju Raveendran, a former teacher, the platforms came into existence when smartphones were in the verge of evolution and easily available everywhere. Apart from this, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is also one of the investors in the firm.
Billionaire Yuri Milner who is an early investor of leading global internet firms like Alibaba and Facebook has also invested in other startups like the online store Flipkart, Cab aggregator Ola, leading food delivery service Swiggy and an e-commerce platform Udaan.
With this new investment, Byju’s would become the second most valued Indian Startup following Paytm, an online payment platform. On this note, other online educational platforms like Udemy and Vedanta are also strengthening their firms by roping in various investors.
