Fashion Startups Gears Up As The Fashion Season Bells Ring
Due to the pandemic, every sector got affected and the fashion industry was one among them. People couldn’t step out for shopping due to the increasing corona cases. So, the Fashion industry shifted to the online platform to make the shopping experience safer and exciting for the customers.
The companies started using Al, Visual Trying, 3D Technology, and Augmented Reality Technology to make their user experience better. The companies are now stepping up their games as people are in the shopping spree with festive seasons approaching soon.
Myntra’s Head of Business, Ayyappan Rajagopal said, ”The demand from newer markets, especially tier 2 and 3, has grown significantly, allowing us to resume to pre-COVID numbers and regain business normalcy. Around Raksha Bandhan, we witnessed a strong uptick in demand for women’s ethnic wear, men’s occasion wear, kids wear, and accessories such as watches and handbags.”
Ethnic wear in both children’s and women’s sections are seeing a considerable rise in the market as the festive seasons are just around the corner and their new digital features also serve as an important factor in improving the business. People have started pre-booking their orders on online platforms prior to celebrations.
Rajagopal also said, “The fashion ecosystem has responded to the evolving customer need and this has also given rise to the concept of omnichannel integration. We added about 35 brands in just 10 days before the previous edition of the ‘End of Reason Sale’, held in June this year, and continue to be approached by brands to add more at an accelerated pace.”
Due to this, the fashion startups are drowned in orders with a great surge in business. India’s apparel market would earn $59.3 Billion by 2022 and would become the sixth-largest in the world according to McKinsey’s FashionScope report.
