Ixigo’s New Ad Showcases Mario Taking A Flight
Ixigo has introduced a unique way to spread awareness regarding social distancing and the need for personal hygiene among travelers taking flights. The company has sliced apart from the well-known video game Mario in its first level for 60 seconds, with an aim to deliver a message and all required procedure that is to be followed while boarding a flight, during this time of the pandemic outbreak.
The video takes a very different shape where instead of following the usual Mario’s gameplay of winning mushrooms and stars, the viewers get to check all the processes that need to be followed during this covid era. The video has done its part to make it a very effective tutorial for the viewers by including each element that needs to be followed in an airport during this time of pandemic that is Web check-in, temperature checks, boarding pass, maintaining social distancing, use of hand sanitizer, wearing a face mask and PPE suit, and then finally getting into the flight
The pandemic has created a restriction on people’s travel plans and this has hit the travel industry hard. Flights have been canceled and most of them are grounded if not all. In this scenario, Ixigo came with its video advertisement which although a part of the very popular video game Mario is a different version of it. The video has been very thoughtfully given the name M.A.R.I.O which is the short form for ‘Masks Are Really Important Okay?’.
The brand also comes with a disclaimer on Twitter saying: All visuals have been used in good faith without any intention of infringement; video is used for public health and safety awareness purpose only; copyright remains with respective owners.’
The brand made its appearance in the headlines when it came into the advertisement world with a 2-minute video featuring Sanjay Mishra. The advertisement focussed on the train journeys, in the pre-COVID world, it was conceptualized and produced by the brand’s in-house team.
