OPPO All Set To Build Its Strength In Western Europe
Aiming to build a strong brand presence in Europe, the Chinese smartphone brand OPPO has released its latest ad which highlights its association with FC Barcelona (Barҫa) as the team enters the final 8 among all the elite European groups. The campaign signals the company’s overseas market expansion plan and has added Germany, Portugal, Belgium, and Romania in its list of the European nations last month ending up with a total of 10 overseas markets.
This calls for a celebration as the company completes five years of successful partnership with the team, which can be said to be the longest-running partnership between a tech brand and a European football team.
OPPO wants Barҫa fans to “Go for it”
The Chinese brand is planning to host a long season of digital content series which will include in itself a virtual Q&A round with the players of the team, a social campaign will also be in place along with a new commercial dubbed “Go for it.”
The ad film features the spirit of a young fan as she makes her way to victory leaving aside her doubts and joins a man’s team to get a hands-on experience of football match herself. The film further goes on with the young player giving out action shots with those of the Barca players, all the shots and action of the match finally gets captured in a small screen and viewers get to know that it is all in the Oppo Find X2 series. The film runs with messages from OPPO and also the tagline from the brand “Go for it”. The device is now available for customers across 10 European markets with a 5G series which ensures a powerful and all-round performance with a quality user experience from the brand.
The campaign was launched in the month of June on all social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Storyblitz. Messages from selected fans under the hashtag #CheerforBarҫa were shown on Camp Nou’s LED signboards in order to encourage players during the restart of the La Liga season. The campaign then speaks in the same line as that of the ad video and encourages fans to fulfill their dreams with the spirit of #GoForIt regardless of what comes in the way or act as a barrier.
Fans can also be a part of a Q&A session with the football team defenders like Gerard Piqué, Nélson Semedo, Clément Lenglet, and forwards Luis Suarez and Martin Braithwaite, where the players shared their thoughts and insights with fans and answered their questions.
OPPO along with its partnership with FC Barcelona is also associated with tennis competitions like Roland-Garros and Wimbledon and added to it is the Boston Marathon. Associations with such big names in international sports have helped the brand gain a global presence and resonate well in the minds of its customers
