Mobile Click Frauds Increases Tremendously During COVID – 19 Months

Clickease, a click fraud detection, and prevention software company has researched mobile click frauds. The result showed that mobile click fraud has been increased to 62% since this lockdown.

Due to this, various advertisers of all fields are witnessing a downfall in the search spend as it is vital for their business growth in these tough times as said by Ilan Missulawin, the CMO of Clickease. “However, a large part of this crucial paid search spend is wasted on invalid clicks, and this is now largely carried out on mobile devices,” he added.

Clickease software has detected many non-humans, invalid and fraudulent clicks. Around 1.8 Billion fraud clicks from 78 countries in 5000 and above websites were found. These fake clicks done using fake ids have cost millions to the advertising companies all around the world.

“Changing consumer behavior during the COVID-19 epidemic has led to increased activity on certain mobile-first channels as well as e-commerce consumption. This naturally leads to increased interest on behalf of bad actors looking to exploit the AdTech ecosystem’s innate weaknesses,” said Missulawin.

In Android devices, click frauds have jumped from 12% to 29% between May to June. It has risen to 12% from 2% in IOS.
