Paytm Introduces India’s First Portable Android POS Device
Paytm with the aim to strengthen the Small and Medium Enterprises with newer technologies, has brought into market India’s first of its kind pocket Android POS device to bring contactless ordering & payment systems in the picture. The financial service platform has introduced ‘Paytm All-in-One Portable Android Smart POS’ starting with a rent of Rs 499 per month. The device which stands similar to a mobile phone is an Android-based device that has been introduced in India and has much more capacity than the portable Linux based POS devices which is now currently in use.
The device is also enabled with Paytm’s ‘Scan to Order’ service which is gaining its place in the Indian market and is used by thousands of restaurants and other takeaway outlets. This high-end POS device is cost-effective from the house of Paytm and it can be said as a move from Paytm to equip a large number of SME’s with zero contact ordering and payment services. This device goes well with delivery personnel logistic players, Kirana stores, and small shopkeepers who can easily accept any Digital payment done to them.
The device is loaded with world-class features and weighs only 163 Gms, with 12 mm thickness and 4.5-inch touch screen it stands well to catch any customer’s attention. It has a powerful processor, all-day battery life, and an inbuilt camera to scan QR codes and instantly process payment, not only did Paytm stop at this, it made sure that the device has many industry-first features as well as services including cloud-based software for billing, payments, and customer management. The device operates with the help of 4 Sim cards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity which ensures non-stop payment services and good connectivity with the list of other Paytm services. The company is planning to bring into market 2 lakh devices in the next few months which will contribute towards generating over 20 million transactions each month.
The device also brings with itself ‘Paytm for Business’ app which enables the user to generate GST compliant bills and also efficient management of transactions and settlements. The app will work towards helping merchants in terms of various business services as well as bringing out financial solutions for loans, insurance, and Business Khata which will eventually help to manage digital ledger for all their transactions like udhaar, cash, and card sales. There is also a merchandise store on the app which offers Paytm All-in-One QR integrated utility items such as soundbox, calculator, power bank, clock, pen stands, and radio. The App was downloaded for over 20 million times and has been one of the most popular merchant apps on Google Play Store as well as on the App Store.
