1. Newspaper:
Newspaper is considered low cost, local advertising media, with reach ability to all living in a locality. Preparation of newspaper advertisement is easier as compared to ads preparation for other media. Viewer of newspaper ads can use it a collection of information for comparative study of similar type of products.
2. Television Advertising:
It is also a popular way of advertising. In India TV viewer has increased to 10 times in last five years. Reach of the TV and satellite transmission have penetrated the interior parts of the country too. Availability of multichannel facility providing programmes to all according to their choice & taste. Selection of time and channel to telecast the advertisement is also an important decision to make it more effective.
Advantages of this way of advertising are communication to wide (nationwide or at international level) group of customers, viewers cannot ship the telecast, ads are communicated via a framed story so these are more interesting & effective, some of the ads are viewed only due to their interesting presentation.
Some disadvantages are also there like higher cost of preparation and telecast of advertisement, advertisement of business and office equipment’s are not so effective as those of home appliances, due to tough competition poor quality advertisements hardly influence customers.
3. Magazine Advertisement:
Magazine advertising is similar to newspaper advertising. Magazine advertising last longer as compared to newspaper and TV advertising.
Magazines can be proved best way to communicate about the product with special interest group. High quality printing and multi-colour provide a good quality presentation of advertisement. Magazine advertisements are less impressive than TV because these lack the action and sound.
4. Radio Advertising:
It is cheaper than TV advertising and used to communicate with a particular class of people. Ability of announcer and audio effects contribute more to the effectiveness of advertisement. But this is not so effective media as TV and newspaper and covers a smaller group of potential customers.
5. Direct Email:
If product is highly specific in nature then direct mail can be send to expected potential customers providing all necessary details of the product. This way is more influential for costlier and special purpose products rather than the products meant for common people.
