Art Has Become The New Therapy During This Lockdown
Due to this pandemic, there has been a great disruption in our regular lives. People were restricted from stepping out of their houses and had to work from home. This made them look for alternate options to spend their time. People started bringing out their hidden talents and started singing, baking, painting, sketching, and so on.
Faber-Castell has witnessed a 300% increase in the number of downloads of their coloring patterns and tutorial videos during the quarantine. People are considering drawing and sketching to be therapeutic as they are confined to the four walls of their house.
During quarantine, Faber Castell offered free drawing classes in Brazil which were downloaded three million times with an increased subscription of 4,500%. The company has planned to expand its horizon and offer new videos to the customers as the demand is increasing day by day.
“During the lockdown phase of recent months, our drawing patterns and tutorials have been downloaded about three times as often as in the comparable period last year,” explains the manager. “Our online sales also went up significantly,” said Oliver Hempel, Head of Digital Marketing at Faber-Castell.
Sonali Shah, Marketing Director, Faber-Castell,” India notices a hike in the engagement rate by almost 30-40% on the tutorials uploaded by the brand during lockdown than pre-covid times. At the same time, she also says we have seen substantial growth in Art and coloring products like paints, color pencils, and accessories like canvas and brushes.”
