Johnnie Walker To Be Sold In Paper Bottles
With the multinational companies becoming environmentally aware each day, Johnnie Walker, the world’s leading Whiskey brand, is now remodeling their package design with environmentally safe Paper Bottles. The design will hit the market in early 2021, as announced by Diageo, the British multinational beverage alcohol company.
The company also said that it was the first to create the world’s plastic-free paper which is recyclable and made entirely from sustainably sourced wood and the bottle will be launched along with Johnnie Walker.
They have partnered with Pilot Lite, a venture management company to launch Pulplex Limited, a new world-leading packaging tech company. Pulplex will also be creating packages for other companies like Unilever and PepsiCo. The package is designed in such a way to contain and match various liquid commodities.
“We’re proud to have created this world first. We are constantly striving to push the boundaries within sustainable packaging and this bottle has the potential to be truly ground-breaking. It feels fitting that we should launch it with Johnnie Walker, a brand that has often led the way in innovation throughout its 200 years existence,” said Ewam Andrew, Chief Sustainability Officer of Diageo.
Sandy Westwater, Director, Pilot Lite said, “We’re thrilled to be working with global brand leaders in this consortium. By working together, we can use the collective power of the brands to help minimize the environmental footprint of packaging by changing manufacturing and consumer behaviors.”
