Music App Gaana Reaches 185 Mn Monthly Active Users
Music streaming app, Gaana has announced that it has reached 185 million monthly active users. It is the first app that has reached so many people. The platform owes its growth to the launch of Gaana HotShots (short videos), live streaming, and podcasts. Within the app, the HotShots feature is a short video section that allows users to create and share short videos. Top influencers and creators like Neha Kakkar, Darshan Raval, Riyaz Aly, Avneet Kaur, Jannat Zubair, Awez Darbar, Anushka Sen, Nagma Mirajkar, Ritz Badlani, and Baba Jackson have joined the Gaana HotShots platform to create exclusive content across music, comedy, dance, lip-sync and other categories.
According to the music platform, it powers more than 3.3 billion streams with over 35 percent contribution from regional music. More than 27 percent of music consumption is powered by AI/machine learning-based recommendations. Podcasts are also highly successful as there are over 2500 user-generated podcasts per month.
