 Newspapers Remain The Most Trusted Medium Among People

In these lockdown times, news consumption has become much higher than before. Since we couldn’t step outside, people rely upon newspapers and digital platforms to know what is happening around them. On a survey, conducted by EY, Newspaper still remains as the most trusted medium by both metro and non-metro audience.

Out of 4000 respondents, 32% of the metro respondents buy newspapers at home. 42% of respondents spend around 20 minutes reading newspapers at home. 33% think of newspapers as a reliable news source, while 20% believe that online news feed is much reliable, TV news is favored by 16% The rest of them rely on all the three forms.

The digital news feed is trusted by 75% of non-metro respondents and 77% of the metro audience. There has been a considerable rise in the number of OTT platform users. During this COVID times, people are spending more time on digital mediums and it has been reported that 72% of metro respondents spend more time in OTT when compared to 66% non-metro people.
