McDonald’s Presents Happy Meals For Seniors In Sweden
McDonald’s Sweden has brought out a very unique and exciting offer for the elderly population who have been the worst sufferers during this time of lockdown. The pandemic has forced this section of the population, in particular, to lock themselves within four walls, and not step out of their thresholds, which normally used to be a source of relaxation for this group. Under such a tough situation, McDonald’s has done its bit to bring a smile to the faces of this vulnerable group.
In its unique attempt, McDonald’s has given an opportunity to its young customers to swap roles with their grandparents and bring happiness to them when they cannot move out. Conceptualized by Nord DDB, McDonald’s Happy Meal campaign allows kids to visit a McDonald’s outlet and create handmade
drawings, or write a letter along with other surprises for their beloved grannies and grandpas and the fast-food chain takes the responsibility to deliver it to their grandparents with a Happy Meal.
Sofie Lager, senior marketing manager at McDonald’s Sweden, said, “We wanted to let the kids surprise their grandparents with what they themselves love most, along with a surprise that we know the grandparents appreciate. We hope the initiative has made the lives of the grandparents a little more
enjoyable.”
